I’ve written a number of articles for the New Statesman, the majority were in the series, Cycling Through, as I pedalled from London to Istanbul in the summer of 2012.
With the European Union feeling the full impact of its financial crisis, I wrote an account of the economics and politics at 12mph. I rode 2000 miles, finding out how people felt about Europe and the crisis in established states like France and Italy, a new EU member (Croatia), the fragile Greek state, and the Turkish perspective from outside the EU.
I also cover some Turkish politics for New Statesman.
